Q: Why buy from Harmony Books Online?

A: Harmony Books Online offers the same extensive collection of titles and personalized service as found in our Varanasi flagship store. We have more than fifteen years of experience sourcing and shipping books around the world on diverse topics, specializing in art books and scholarly titles. Q: What kinds of books are available from Harmony Books Online?

A: Harmony Books Online specializes in scholarly titles and art books published both in India and abroad. We also have a large collection of books on spirituality and yoga, critical theory, philosophy, politics of India and the world, and literary fiction. We are always expanding our collection – please let us know if there is a title you are searching for.

Q: I am buying books for a library, school, studio, or private collection. Can you help curate a selection of books?

A: We are happy to help you select books for your collection. In the past we have assisted university libraries, art galleries, yoga studios, and many other organizations with building and expanding their libraries. Q: I would like to purchase certain titles, but I can’t find them on your website. Can you arrange to get them for me?

A: We can often find books you don’t see on our website. Please contact us at harmonybooksonline@gmail.com with as much information as possible about the books you’d like to find (title, author, publisher and ISBN), and we will let you know if we can procure them for you and how long it might take.

Q: The book I want is out of stock. When will you get it?

A: If you add an out-of-stock book to your wish list, you will be automatically informed by email when the book is available for purchase.

Q: I need many copies of the same book. Do you offer bulk rates?

Your Account:

Q: Do I need to register for an account at Harmony Books Online?

A: You may browse our collection without registering for an account, but if you would like to make a purchase, you must register for an account. This is to ensure that we have all the information we need to process and ship your order.

Q: Why do I have to provide my email address and phone number?

A: We use your email address to contact you with details about your order and shipping information. Your contact phone number is required for shipping. We will never use this information to contact you for any purpose other than facilitating the orders you have placed, unless we have your explicit permission. We will never rent, sell, or give away your personal information to third parties.

Q: How can I recover my user name or password?

A: Under “My Profile,” click on “Forgot Your User Name” or “Forgot Your Password.” You will be prompted with the steps needed to recover and change your password through the email address associated with your account.

Q: Do you store my credit card information with my account?

A: No, we never store your credit card information. All online payments at www.harmonybooksonline.com are processed through CCAvenue using the latest encryption and online security technologies.

Shipping:

Q: When will you ship my order?

A: Provided books are in stock, orders to addresses within India will be shipped within two working days, and orders to addresses outside India will be shipped within two working days. Once you have placed an order, we will send you a confirmation email with your order number. When we ship your order, we will send a second email with a tracking number.

Q: The book I want is listed as “available,” but the product page says it will take up to four weeks to be shipped. Why will it take so long?

A: In order to bring you the most interesting and up-to-date collection of imported books available in India, we are constantly shipping books from outside the country. These books will take longer to be shipped to you.

Q: Where is my order now?

A: At any time after placing an order, you can check your order status by selecting "My Orders." You will be prompted to enter the order number. Order statuses are follows:

  • Confirmed: Your order has been logged in our system and your payment is being processed.
  • Processing: Your payment has cleared and your order is being processed.
  • Shipped/Dispatched: Your order has left our warehouse and is en route to the shipping address you provided.
  • Delivered: Your order has been delivered to your shipping address.
  • Cancelled: Your order has been cancelled.
Q: When will my order arrive once it has been shipped?

A: Orders shipped by courier to addresses within India generally arrive within Three to six working days after shipping. Certain areas in India are not served by courier services. In this case, orders are shipped by Indian Registered Post and may take up to twelve days to arrive after shipping.

Orders to addresses outside of India are always shipped by DHL Express and generally arrive within six working days after shipping.

Q: How can I track my order once it has shipped?

A: When your order has shipped, we will send you an email including a tracking number, through which you can get up-to-date information about your order online from FedEx Express, First Flight Couriers (to addresses within India) or DHL (to addresses outside of India).

Q: Do you offer shipping options other than courier?

A: Generally speaking, no. In our experience, other shipping methods have sometimes proved unreliable, especially for shipments to addresses outside of India. In order to ensure that your books reach you safely, we only ship books via courier: FedEX Express, First Flight Couriers within India and DHL Express outside of India. The one exception is for addresses within India which are outside the courier delivery zone. For these addresses, we use Indian Registered Post.

Q: Can you ship to Post Office boxes outside of India?

A: Unfortunately, we are unable to send books to PO boxes outside of India.

Q: Can you ship my order to multiple addresses?

A: Yes, we will ship your books wherever you need them to go. Shipping costs for each address will be calculated separately.

Returns and Cancellations:

Q: Can I cancel my order?

A: We accept cancellations until your order has shipped. To cancel an order, log in, go to "My Account" and select "My Orders. Select the order you wish to cancel, and click on “Cancel This Order,” which will appear next to your order details. Once your order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled.

Q: Can I return the books I ordered once they have shipped?

A: We accept returns of books within one week of their receipt, provided they are still in their original packaging. However, customers must pay for return shipping via FedEx Express or First Flight Couriers (within India) or DHL (outside of India). In order for you to receive credit for the returned items, all books returned to us must be shipped via courier service and must arrive in their original packaging. In case books arrive damaged or not in their original packaging, we will charge a 15% restocking fee.
We cannot accept returns of bulk orders or special orders.

Q: The books I ordered were damaged or defective. What should I do?

A: We make every effort to ensure that your books arrive in excellent condition. However, if your order is damaged or defective, we will replace it at no cost to you. Please contact us at harmonybooksonline@gmail.com and let us know what went wrong.
