About Book
A four-month stay in Varanasi that was part of an Indology studies exchange
programme called A New Passage to India” led to Felix Herkert’s introduction
to Alice Boner – first her books, and later her artworks. Having studied the
Traditionalist intellectuals such as René Guénon, Ananda Coomaraswamy,
Burckhardt, Felix Herkert noticed the connection between Alice Boner
approach and these authors. This observation gave rise to serious research,
which the author sees as complementing Ringgenberg ; very comprehensive
study Les théories de l’art dans la pensée traditionnelle, in which the
traditionalist art paradigm – including its reception – is discussed in great
detail, but where Kramrisch is mentioned only very briefly, Boner not at all.
